Returning Combat Veterans

American Solider with U.S. Flag The Charleston VAMC is grateful to the men and women who risk their lives to fight terrorism in Afghanistan, Iraq and many other places around the world. 

If you are a recently discharged Veteran with service in a theater of combat operations, you may be entitled to free medical care provided by the VA for five years from the date of your discharge from active duty for conditions possibly related to your service, regardless of your income status.

Welcome Home  

Welcome Home 2011 welcomed home hundreds of Veterans, service members and their families on May 5 aboard the USS Yorktown at the Naval and Maritime Museum at Patriots Point in Charleston, SC.  Thank you to all who made it such a success!  We look forward to seeing you at Welcome Home 2012! The date is set for May 17, 2012

The Charleston VAMC welcomes home all of our heroes every day!  The Charleston VAMC Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom team is here every day to welcome home our heroes.
