The research program
The research program within the Psychiatry Division of the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center is strongly oriented toward disorders that affect the veterans population. Most prominent is research on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance abuse, improving treatment of affective disorders, and mental health diseases associated with aging such as Alzheimer’s disease. Also included is mental health services research, which aims to improve methods of health care delivery for veterans.
