Service to Veterans doesn’t slip during storm

Service for Veterans doesn't stop during winter storm

Service for Veterans doesn't stop during winter storm

Friday, January 31, 2014

More than 180 employees kept the home fires burning at the VAMC during Winter Storm Leon Jan. 28 - 30. Serving meals, spreading sand and salt on walkways, and coordinating staff accommodations were just a few of the many tasks that made sure the Veterans and staff were well taken care of.

“It’s really something to see an operation of this size work without any gap in staffing or having to figure out how to get staff to and from the hospital,” said Renae Jacobson, H.R. Chief of Staffing.

Employees from Engineering, EMS, Nursing, Medical, Nutrition & Food Service, Veterans Canteen Service, Logistics, Human Resources, and other services worked together through the storm.
