Tallmadge receives Manager of Distinction award
Brian Tallmadge, assistant chief of Environmental Management Services (EMS) at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, was awarded the Manager of Distinction award from Facility Cleaning Decisions magazine.
Tallmadge was one of six individuals selected to receive the award out of approximately 100 entries.
“I was surprised to find out I was receiving the award,” said Tallmadge. “It’s nice to be recognized nationally for simply trying to do my job the best I can.”
Tallmadge was nominated by Patrick Barry, chief of EMS at the Charleston VA Medical Center, for demonstrating exceptional management style, organizational achievements, and above-and-beyond job performance.
“I nominated Brian because he possesses a very strong work ethic and is highly motivated to succeed in whatever he does,” said Barry. “He has made several major contributions to the service bringing on board many technological advances such as DAZO GEL monitoring, TRU-D Ultra Violet Light Disinfection to kill bacteria left behind after manual cleaning, and Scrub-Ex scrub dispensing machines to establish accountability by users, assure scrub availability and save the medical center thousands of dollars in replacement costs for missing scrubs.”
