My name is Jackie Wilkerson and I have served as the Administrative Officer for the Savannah VA Outpatient Clinic since July 2017. I am proud to be working in this role for one of the best health care systems in VA. Before coming to Savannah, I worked at the VA Roseburg Healthcare System in Oregon for nine years. I held several positions there (some simultaneously) including Administrative Officer, for Ambulatory Care, Compensation and Pension Supervisor, Call Center Supervisor, Administrative Services Manager and Administrative Officer of HAS. Prior to that, I worked in a VA Research Center attached to the Gainesville VA Healthcare System as a Grants Administrator. I also have more than 20 years of work experience in private sector health care.
Since the early 1990s, my passion and focus has been on providing and ensuring outstanding customer service. I believe wholeheartedly in VA’s mission and that it is everyone’s job to bend over backwards to exceed customer expectations for both internal and external customers. It was a natural progression and perfect fit for me to move from the private sector to the VA, where taking care of Veterans has been my passion for almost 10 years. I love what I do and care deeply about not only the Veterans, but also about my fellow employees.
Part of my passion for taking care of Veterans, probably comes from the eight-and-a-half years I spent in the Air Force. Beyond that, my father is a 92-year-old WWII Veteran who I’ve helped guide through the VA health care system. I believe it behooves all of us to provide the best customer service to our Veteran patients and their families.
At the Savannah VA Outpatient Clinic, and Charleston VAMC system, we work together in our commitment to Veterans by doing our utmost to ensure that Veterans needs are met to create the best experience for them.
