Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center

Volunteer or Donate

The Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston and clinics in Myrtle Beach, Beaufort, Savannah and Hinesville, rely on community contributions of time and treasure to honor Abraham Lincoln’s promise to care for those who have borne the battle. We are proud of the Lowcountry’s generous support of those who served. Volunteers provid needed transportation, supplement clinic and administrative staff, and provide comfort when our Veterans need it most.

Donations are used to fund several programs that cannot be funded with tax dollars due to legal restrictions. Things like bus tickets home, newspapers for inpatients, coffee served in waiting rooms, meals for spouses visiting hospitalized Veterans, and last wish vacations for dying Veterans in hospice care are all funded through donations. Without community contributions, we could not say that we deliver the best care anywhere – it is the generosity of this grateful community that makes us the best.
