The Diversity Committee here at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center does a fantastic job of recognizing and celebrating the diversity of the employees, volunteers and Veterans that make up our VA family.Join us this month for our Black History Month programs featuring local historian Elizabeth Hunt Alston. Ms. Alston is a native Charlestonian and educator who is active in numerous community and civic affairs. She currently serves as the archivist and historian at Mother Emmanuel A.M.E. Church. She will hold two programs this month in the Main Auditorium: Feb. 2, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., a presentation on our local Charleston Black History,
AND Feb. 23, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., she’ll share the Chicken Bone Special: a history of African Americans and the railroad. All are invited to attend these events!
