| | May is Stroke Awareness Month.
Stroke is the #4 killer of women and the #5 killer of men. It is a major cause of adult disability. Eighty percent of strokes are preventable. Knowing the signs and symptoms of stroke, and calling 911, can save your life. Join us on May 4 in the Main Auditorium from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. for our Stroke Awareness Month Resource and Education Fair.
At the first sign of stroke, call 911. Time is Brain. Quick treatment means less brain may be lost. Risk factors for stroke include: High blood pressure, diabetes, atrial fibrillation, obesity, and smoking. It is vital to know your personal risk factors, see your doctor regularly, and take your medications as prescribed. To learn more about stroke visit: http://www.strokeassociation.org/STROKEORG/
