There are many ways for Veterans to make health care appointments.

  • If you don’t have VA health care benefits, you can apply now. Apply for VA health care.
  • If you’re having a medical emergency, please call 911 or call the Veterans Crisis Line at 1-800-273-8255, then press 1.

VA now offers online appointment scheduling for some appointments. We hope to expand the number of VA facilities and types of appointments in the future.

Upgrade your Existing Accounts

If you have received a postcard reminding you to make a follow-up appointment, it is very important that you do so. Please call the number listed on your postcard to schedule your appointment. If you misplaced your postcard, please call one of our appointment lines listed below depending on your individual needs.

Canceling/Changing Your Appointment

We understand that things come up, and there may be times when Veterans are unable to make their scheduled appointment. Call us as early as possible to cancel and reschedule appointments at our medical center and clinics by dialing 843-789-6500. When a Veteran proactively cancels and reschedules, versus “no-showing” for the scheduled appointment, it opens that time slot for another Veteran to schedule an appointment. For those Veterans who have a premium myHealtheVet account, they can login and reschedule directly online. 

Text Message Appointment Reminders

Enroll for text message reminders:
  • Call (843) 577-5011, press Option #3.
  • Press 2 to use the Automated System for appointment Information.
  • Enter your SSN when prompted.
  • To verify your preferred contact method, press 1.
  • To receive text message appointment reminders, press 2.
  • Press 1 to confirm you choose to receive notifications via text message.
  • Enter your 10-digit phone number.
  • Press 1 to confirm your number is correct.
  • You have now completed your enrollment.

Text reminders are sent 48 hours before your scheduled appointment instead of automated reminder phone calls. You may stop receiving text message at any time by replying "stop" to your text reminder message. Text reminders also provide options to cancel or reschedule appointments. Sign-up today and receive your appointment remindersyour way.
