Research and Development

Welcome to our website describing the research program at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina. The mission of our research program is to conduct investigations that will improve the health care of Veterans. The Ralph H. Johnson VAMC research program is closely interfaced with the diverse research program at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). The close proximity and shared high regard for research among these institutions provides a mutually beneficial academic and clinical environment that strives for research excellence.

These web pages contain information about our multi-faceted research program, the investigators who conduct their studies at our VA Medical Center and links to program descriptions from the VA Office of Research and Development.

The Office of Research & Development consists of four research services that together form a cohesive whole that explores all phases of Veteran’s health care needs.
