The Charleston Research & Development Administrative Team is led by Amanda LaRue, Ph.D., Associate Chief of Staff of Research, and Richard Vermillion, Administrative Officer for Research.  The R&D Administrative Team is responsible for budgets, travel, time keeping, and human resource actions for all research position descriptions (PDs), VA Merit submissions, RDIS reports, and procurement and contracting. Below is a detailed list of our Administrative Team.

Sarah Jackson is a Grants Administrator at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, Research Services.  Sarah provides direct support to the ACOS, Dr. R. Amanda C. LaRue, PhD., and VA Investigators. She manages a range of activities for the Charleston R&D Service line such as:

Biosafety Officer

  Trained in infectious disease research, Dr. Soloff serves as the Biosafety Officer for the Research Service where his efforts focus on the following:
  • Overseeing the use of biological agents,
  • Providing hands-on training to research personnel
  • Assistance with protocol development
