For Investigators: Training Opportunities and Requirements
Institutional Review Board (IRB):
|
VA-required annual training for all persons involved in human subjects research.
|
Training is required for all individuals who will be involved in research pertaining to human subjects. Any new staff in a study must obtain the required training before initiating any study activities. Training involves completion of the Miami CITI course (by clicking this link, you will leave the VA web domain and go to the domain of MUSC) plus the Good Clinical Practices course. Please note: to have access to the VA training modules, you must register on the CITI website as a member of the local VA Medical Center. In the event of questions about accessing the training website, please contact the Acting Research Compliance Officer, Shelley Coleman (789-6769).

Upon completion of training, submit the certificate to Shelley Coleman in the VA Research Office, STB - Room 150.

Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee:
|
VA-required training for all persons involved in animal research. Complete all modules that apply to the animal research for which you have IACUC approval. Instructions for accessing the training are linked.

Upon completion of training, submit the certificate to Shelley Coleman in the VA Research Office, STB - Room 150.

Security Awareness Training:
|
All persons working in VA research space must review the information in the attached file and return the signed acknowledgement that training has been completed to Teresa Gardner in the VA Research Office, STB - Room 148.

Shipping Hazardous & Infectious Agents:
|
All individuals who will be shipping hazardous materials must complete training. Training is available through a CD, which can be obtained from Shelley Coleman in the VA Research Office, STB - Room 150.
