The Charleston VAMC understands the importance of visits from loved ones to our patients. We welcome care partners and friends on most patient units at any time. Children must be supervised by an adult and cannot be left unattended. Please review our Visiting Hours and Policies for more information.
The Charleston VAMC Police Service provides 24-hour patrols of the facility and parking lots. Report all suspicious or criminal activity, vehicle accidents, and personal property losses to the VA Police while on the facility grounds as soon as possible.
Because the VA Medical Center is federal property, all persons and bags are subject to search. In addition, no weapons, alcohol, or illegal drugs are permitted.
You will be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect as an individual regardless of your age, race, color, creed, religion , gender identity or sexual orientation.
